Der Frauenheld (1933)
Der Platzanweiser Dan Quigley verliert seinen Job und macht Karriere als Boß einer Einbrecherbande. Als er von der Polizei verhaftet wird, läßt seine Geliebte Myra ihn im Stich und verschwindet mit seinem Geld. Die Polizei kann Dan nichts nachweisen und läßt ihn wieder frei. Mittellos streicht er durch Los Angeles, bis ein Filmteam auf sein markantes Gesicht aufmerksam wird. Er erhält einen Job als Komparse in einem großen Studio. Die Arbeit ist hart, doch schon bald wird er beliebt und erhält größere Rollen. Er macht die Bekanntschaft des großen Stars Lois Underwood, und schon nach kurzer Zeit wird sein Name auf den Filmplakaten ganz groß geschrieben. Als Dan glaubt, daß er es endlich geschafft hat, tauchen Myra und seine alten Kumpane wieder auf, die inzwischen weniger erfolgreich waren.
