Erin Brockovich (2000)
Erin Brockovich ist eine alleinstehende Mutter mit Kindern, die verzweifelt einen Job sucht, ohne daß man ihr eine Chance gibt. Eine Wende deutet sich an, als ihr Anwalt ihren Prozeß wegen eines Autounfalls versiebt. Frustriert zwingt sie ihn, ihr eine Stelle als Sekretärin zu geben, wo sie wegen ihrer aufreizenden Kleidung und ihres resoluten Mundwerks nicht gern gesehen ist. Als sie jedoch einen Fall bearbeitet, in dem die Pacific Gas + Electric Co. heimlich, still und leise Land zurückkauft, findet sie heraus, daß die Firma das Land vor Jahren mit lebensbedrohlichem Chrom kontaminiert hat. Sie bohrt weiter, und obwohl der daraus resultierende Fall eine Klasse zu hoch für ihre kleine Anwaltsfirma ist, treibt sie ihren Chef weiter in die größte Schadensersatzklage aller Zeiten...
