Dass sein Bruder nichts auf die Reihe kriegt, stört Jack Radcliff manchmal gar nicht so sehr. Denn so kann er umso mehr Zeit mit seiner Nichte Ashley verbringen, die einen ganz besonderen Platz in seinem Herzen hat. Aus diesem Grund trifft es ihn auch hart, als Ashley einem Verbrechen zum Opfer fällt – bis sich plötzlich alles ändert. Als Jack nämlich eines Tages einen Anruf von Ashleys Handy erhält, muss er feststellen, dass es tatsächlich seine totgeglaubte Nichte ist, die sich am anderen Ende der Leitung befindet. Aber wie ist das überhaupt möglich? Ist sie vielleicht gar nicht tot?
