Checking out - Alles nach meinen Regeln (2006)
Am Abend seines 90. Geburtstags lädt der exzentrische und hoch gelobte Schauspieler Morris Applebaum seine drei erwachsenen Kinder in sein Appartement in Manhattan zu einer fröhlichen Party ein, die niemand vergessen soll. Denn am Ende der Party will Morris aus dem Leben scheiden. Nicht weil er krank oder depressiv ist, er möchte es einfach nur selbst bestimmen, wann Schluss ist. Es soll, wie auch in seinem bisherigen Leben, nach seinen Regeln laufen. Seine drei Kinder, eine Fernsehproduzentin, ein Psychotherapeut und ein BMW-Händler, haben nun alle Hände voll zu tun, ihren Vater davon abzuhalten, sein Vorhaben in die Tat umzusetzen, doch dabei stehen sich die drei nicht minder exzentrischen Sprößlinge meist selbst im Weg.
