Das Mädchen und der Fotograf (1999)
Die Junge Harper Sloane (Sarah Polley) lebt noch zu Hause, dort verbringt sie ihr Leben meist unbeachtet vom Rest der wohlhabenden Familie als Mauerblümchen. Ihre Lebensplanung hat ungefragt ihre Mutter in die Hand genommen, diese hat auch bereits beschlossen das Harper Jura in Harvard studieren soll. Bei einem der zahlreichen Familienfeste lernt Harper jedoch den wesentlich älteren Fotographen Connie (Stephen Rea) kennen und ist sehr geschmeichelt von seinem Interesse an ihr. Kurzerhand packt sie ihre Sachen und zieht zu Connie. Der macht Harper klar, das sie ihr kreatives Talent nutzen muß und er sie dabei unterstützen wird. Die beiden werden ein Paar, bis Harper eines Tages entdeckt, das sie nicht die erste ist die Connie so als "Schülerin" und Geliebte aufnimmt. Sie ist sehr gekränkt und verläßt ihn ...
