The Babe - Ein amerikanischer Traum (1992)
George Ruth wächst in einem Heim auf, wo man seine außerordentlichen Baseball-Künste entdeckt und fördert. Jahre später verläßt George das Heim, um bei einem Baseball-Verein sein Glück zu versuchen. Schnell macht sich der ungelenke "Babe", wie er fortan gerufen wird, einen Namen als Homerun-Sensation. Bei den New York Yankees wird er zur Ikone seines Sports. Weniger Glück hat Babe bei den Frauen: Seine erste Frau verläßt ihn; erst bei dem Showgirl Claire findet er sein Glück. Doch Babes Tage sind gezählt. Die Yankees wollen ihn wegen seiner Unzuverlässigkeit nicht als Manager übernehmen. Bevor er bei einem zweitklassigen Verein seinen Abschied nimmt, schlägt die Legende in einem Spiel drei Homeruns.
