Der Mauretanier (2021)
Auf Befehl der US-Regierung wurde der Mauretanier Mohamedou Ould Slahi vor Jahren auf den Militärstützpunkt Guantanamo verschleppt und wird dort immer noch ohne Anklage oder Gerichtsverfahren festgehalten. Durch unzählige Verhöre und Folter längst aller Hoffnung beraubt, ist Slahi überrascht, als sich die Anwältin Nancy Hollander und ihre Kollegin Teri Duncan plötzlich für seinen Fall interessieren. Ohne selbst von seiner Unschuld überzeugt zu sein, bieten sie ihm an seine Verteidigung zu übernehmen. Dabei stellen ihnen die Behörden zahlreiche Hindernisse in den Weg, allen voran Militärstaatsanwalt Stuart Couch, der davon überzeugt ist, mit Slahi einen der Drahtzieher hinter den Terroranschlägen vom 11. September 2001 festgesetzt zu haben. Nach und nach bringt Nancy Hollanders kontroverser und aufopferungsvoller Einsatz Beweise und Fakten ans Tageslicht, die eine schockierende Verschwörung offenbaren und die klar gegen die freiheitlichen Grundrechte der US-Verfassung verstoßen.
