Ein kleiner Junge tauscht bei einem Hausierer eine Kuh gegen eine Handvoll Bohnen, die Zauberkräfte besitzen. Nach der Aussaat wachsen sie bis in den Himmel. So gelangen er und der Hausierer ins Reich der Fantasie, zu dem auch ein schönes Märchenschloss gehört, in dem ein böser Riese herrscht, den es zu besiegen gilt. In einer Kombination aus Real- und Zeichentrickszenen weitgehend schwungvoll inszenierte Musicalversion des bekannten Märchens.
