Living - Einmal wirklich leben (2022)
Großbritannien, 1953: Das vom Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstörte London ist noch immer im Begriff, sich von den Spuren der Zerstörung zu erholen. Williams, ein hochrangiger Beamter des London County Council, ist ein ohnmächtiges Rädchen in der bürokratischen Stadt, die um den Wiederaufbau kämpft. Im Büro unter Papierkram begraben, hat sich sein Leben lange leer und bedeutungslos angefühlt. Mit dem Erhalt einer erschütternden medizinischen Diagnose ändert sich plötzlich sein gesamtes Leben. Die Diagnose, Krebs im Endstadium, zwingt ihm dazu, sein Leben zu überdenken. Er fasst den Entschluss, seine Ersparnisse abzuheben und zu einem idyllischen Badeort zu fahren, um seinen letzten Lebensabschnitt zu beginnen, den er sich mithilfe von zahlreichen Schlafmitteln so schnell wie möglich herbeiwünscht. Als er auf den fremden Mr. Sutherland trifft, kommt plötzlich jedoch alles anders.
