Der Exorzismus der Gretchen Lang (2022)
1988 sind Abby (Elsie Fisher) und Gretchen (Amiah Miller) die besten Freunde der Welt. Die beiden kennen sich seit ihrer Kindheit, als Gretchen als Einzige zu Abbys E.T.-Themenparty kam. Seitdem sind sie unzertrennlich und bewältigen gemeinsam schulische, familiäre und soziale Probleme. Als sie eines Abends beschließen, an einer Party teilzunehmen, auf der sie mit Drogen experimentieren, nimmt ihr Leben eine seltsame Wendung: Gretchen verschwindet für ein paar Stunden im Wald, und als sie zurückkehrt, ist sie ein völlig anderes Mädchen, immer launisch und reizbar. Obwohl dies für viele ein normales Zeichen des Erwachsenwerdens ist, ist sich Abby sicher, dass ihr Ausflug in den Wald etwas damit zu tun hat, und ihre Neugier führt dazu, dass sie nachforscht und glaubt, dass ihre Freundin von einem Dämon besessen ist.
