Im Sumpf des Verbrechens (1995)
Paul Armstrong, ein angesehener Professor für Rechtskunde und ausgewiesener Feind der Todesstrafe, wird von einem farbigen Delinquenten, der in einer Todeszelle auf seine Hinrichtung wartet, um Hilfe gebeten. Der Fall und das fragwürdige Vorgehen der Behörden lassen Armstrong schnell zu der Gewissheit gelangen, einen Unschuldigen vor sich zu haben. Nachdem er seinen Mandanten jedoch in einer Berufungsverhandlung freibekommen hat, outet sich dieser nachträglich als Täter und nimmt die Familie des Anwalts aufs Korn.
