Laurence John Fishburne III (geboren am 30. Juli 1961) ist ein amerikanischer Schauspieler für Film und Bühne sowie Dramatiker, Regisseur und Produzent. Er ist vielleicht am bekanntesten für seine Rollen als Morpheus in der Matrix Science-Fiction-Film-Trilogie und als Sänger-Musiker Ike Turner im Tina Turner-Biopic What's Love Got to Do With It. Als erster Afroamerikaner porträtierte er Othello in einem Kinofilm eines großen Studios, als er 1995 in Oliver Parkers Verfilmung des Shakespeare-Stückes auftrat. Fishburne hat für seine Leistung in Two Trains Running (1992) einen Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play und für seine Leistung in TriBeCa (1993) einen Emmy Award for Drama Series Gastdarsteller erhalten. Fishburnes erste Ehe war die der Schauspielerin mit Hajna O. Moss. Sie hatten zwei Kinder zusammen: einen Sohn, Langston und eine Tochter, Montana.
