Always Outnumbered (1998)
Der ehemalige Häftling Socrates Fortlow (Laurence Fishburne) zieht nach Los Angeles um dort anonym leben zu können. Ständig auf der Suche nach einem besseren Job verdient er sich sein Geld durch das Aufsammeln von leeren Flaschen und Dosen. Obwohl er selbst genügend Probleme hat, hilft er stehts seinen Mitmenschen, wie zum Beispiel Darryl (Daniel Williams), der von einer Straßengang bedroht wird, oder Burke (Bill Cobbs), der an Krebs leidet und sich keine Behandlung leisten kann. Durch seine Taten wird er von vielen Anwohnern seines Viertels bald als Held angesehen.
