Arthur James „Art“ Evans (27. März 1942 – 21. Dezember 2024) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der über fünf Jahrzehnte in zahlreichen Film- und Fernsehproduktionen mitwirkte. Seine Schauspielkarriere begann am Frank Silvera’s Theater of Being in Los Angeles. Er übernahm eine Hauptrolle in „The Amen Corner“, das 1965 am Broadway aufgeführt wurde. Seinen ersten Auftritt in einem Film hatte er 1974 in „Claudine“, wo er jedoch nicht im Abspann erwähnt wurde. Seine erste Rolle mit Namensnennung war die des Bubba in der „Chico and the Man“-Folge „Too Many Crooks“, die 1976 ausgestrahlt wurde. Am bekanntesten ist er wahrscheinlich für seine Rolle als Leslie Barnes in dem Actionfilm „Stirb langsam 2: Stirb noch langsamer“ aus den 1990er-Jahren, in dem er einen Fluglotsen im Tower spielt. Evans wirkte auch in „Fright Night“ und „Fright Night II“ mit und hatte zahlreiche Gastauftritte in Fernsehserien wie „M*A*S*H“ und „Hill Street Blues“. 1984 spielte er in dem afroamerikanischen Star-Drama „A Soldier's Story“ die unvergessliche Rolle des Schleimers Wilkie. Sein Talent für verschiedene Instrumente kam ihm bei der Darstellung von Blind Lemon Jefferson in dem Film „Leadbelly“ zugute. Außerdem war er im Musikvideo zu Stevie Wonders „Go Home“ zu sehen.
