Bill Cobbs (* 16. Juni 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Als Teenager spielte Cobbs als Amateur an dem weltberühmten Karamu House Theater. Seine eigentliche Schauspielerkarriere begann er relativ spät, nachdem er vorher seinen Lebensunterhalt in Cleveland mit verschiedenen Gelegenheitsarbeiten verdiente. Sein Broadway-Debüt hatte er in dem Stück First Breeze of Summer. Nach einigen Jahren Theaterarbeit hatte er 1974 sein Filmdebüt in Taking of Pelham One Two Three. In den späten 1970ern spielte er kleine Filmrollen und Gastrollen in Fernsehserien. In den frühen 1980er-Jahren arbeitete er in verschiedenen Aufführungen für die NBC Live Theatre-Serien. Normalerweise wird er besetzt für den klugen, alten farbigen Mann, der weise Worte von sich gibt. Aufgrund seines verwitterten, ehrlichen Aussehens hat er in seiner Filmkarriere meist die Rolle der gütigen Väter, Großväter und auch Moses (in Hudsucker – Der große Sprung) gespielt.
