Bernadette (2019)
Bernadette Fox ist anders als die perfekt organisierten Mütter aus der Nachbarschaft. Sie ist chaotisch, exzentrisch, sensibel - und schläft schlecht. Bernadette braucht nach Jahren der Fürsorge für ihre Familie dringend mal wieder etwas Zeit für sich. Die einstige Stararchitektin hat Los Angeles den Rücken gekehrt und ist ihrem Mann Elgie, einem erfolgreichen IT-Manager, nach Seattle gefolgt. Dort leben die beiden mitsamt der 15-jährigen Tochter Bee in einer von Brombeerhecken umrankten alten Villa, die viel zu groß und obendrein sanierungsbedürftig ist. Als Bernadettes penible Nachbarin Audrey darum bittet, die wuchernden Brombeerbüsche an der Grundstücksgrenze zu entfernen, setzt das eine Kette von Missgeschicken in Gang, die Bernadettes Leben endgültig auf den Kopf stellen. Und plötzlich ist sie verschwunden. Elgie und Bee nehmen die Suche auf - und ihre Reise endet schließlich mitten in der Antarktis mit einer überraschenden Entdeckung ...
