Catherine Élise "Cate" Blanchett (geb. 14. Mai 1969) ist eine australische Schauspielerin und Theaterregisseurin. Sie hat mehrere Schauspielpreise gewonnen, darunter zwei SAGs, zwei Golden Globe Awards, zwei BAFTAs und zwei Academy Awards sowie den Volpi Cup bei den 64. Internationalen Filmfestspielen in Venedig. Blanchett hat zwischen 1998 und 2015 sieben Oscar-Nominierungen erhalten. Blanchett erregte internationale Aufmerksamkeit für ihre Rolle als Elisabeth I. von England im Film Elizabeth von 1998 unter der Regie von Shekhar Kapur, eine Rolle, die sie in Elisabeth spielte: Das goldene Zeitalter (2007).
