Kristen Wiig wurde am 22. August 1973 als Kristen Carroll Wiig in Canandaigua, New York, geboren und ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin, Comedian und Drehbuchautorin, die mit ihrem Film Brautalarm (liebevoll auch Hangover für Frauen genannt) eine wahren Überraschungshit landete. Während Kristen Wiigs Kunststudium stand u.a. ein Schauspielkurs mit auf dem Stundenplan, dessen Lehrer ihr damals nahelegte, an der Schauspielerei dranzubleiben. Daraufhin brach sie ihr Studium ab, zog nach Los Angeles und arbeitete in unzähligen Gelegenheitsjobs, um sich finanziell über Wasser zu halten. Ihre Anfänge hatte Kristen Wiig, wie vor ihr bereits Conan O’Brien und Will Ferrell, in der Comedy-Truppe The Groundlings. Seit 2005 ist Kristen Wiig regelmäßig in der Comedy-Show Saturday Night Live zu sehen und wurde 2009 von Entertainment Weekly unter den 25 lustigsten Frauen Hollywoods aufgeführt. In Drew Barrymores Regiedebüt Roller Girl – Manchmal ist die schiefe Bahn der richtige Weg drehte Kristen Wiig als Maggie Mayhem rasant ihre Runden und parodierte in der Actionkomödie MacGruber als Vicki St. Elmo die 1980er Kultserie MacGyver. Nachdem Kristen Wiig bereits in den Komödien Beim ersten Mal und Walk Hard: Die Dewey Cox Story mit Judd Apatow zusammen gearbeitet hatte, war dieser 2011 als Produzent ihres Films Brautalarm (in dem sie auch selbst die Hauptrolle spielt) mit im Boot. Das Drehbuch zu Brautalarm hat Kristen Wiig zusammen mit ihrer ehemaligen Groundlings-Kollegin Annie Mumulo geschrieben. In Paul – Ein Alien auf der Flucht ist Kristen Wiig neben Simon Pegg und Nick Frost, mit denen sie auch privat eng befreundet, in einer unterstützenden Rolle zu sehen. Als Synchronsprecherin erweckte Kristen Wiig in Ice Age 3 – Die Dinosaurier sind los eine plumpe Bibermutter, Miss Hattie in Ich – Einfach unverbesserlich, sowie Ruffnut in Drachenzähmen leicht gemacht zum Leben.
