Elliott ist in der kanadischen Provinz in Ontario aufgewachsen und wird bald ihr Zuhause verlassen, um aufs College zu gehen. Kurz vorher nimmt sie eines schönen Sommerabends zusammen mit ihren besten Freundinnen an ihrem 18. Geburtstag ein paar Magic Mushrooms zu sich – und begegnet bei dem darauf folgenden halluzinogenen Trip plötzlich ihrem 21 Jahre älteren Ich! Zukunfts-Elliott hat jede Menge wichtige Ratschläge im Gepäck, wie die Teenagerin ihr künftiges Leben führen soll und was sie anders machen kann, damit alles einen besseren Verlauf nimmt. Ganz wichtig ist ihr dabei, dass sie sich nie in einen Typen namens Chad verlieben soll – dem die am nächsten Tag wieder nüchterne Elliott dann auch prompt begegnet. Da ist es natürlich mehr als hilfreich, dass sie per Smartphone weiter in Kontakt mit ihrem älteren Ich steht, das noch so einige Weisheiten auf Lager hat.
