Black Dahlia (2006)
Passanten entdecken auf einem leerstehenden Grundstück in Los Angeles des Jahres 1947 eine grausam zugerichtete Frauenleiche. Ihr Rumpf ist durchtrennt, der Mund zu einem grotesken Lachen aufgeschnitten. Die Ermordete wird als Starlet Elizabeth Short, genannt "Die schwarze Dahlie", identifiziert, und die Cops Bleichert und Blanchard auf den mysteriösen Fall angesetzt. In der Stadt der (gefallenen) Engel machen sie sich auf Tätersuche, und stoßen dabei auf korrupte Kollegen, machtgeile Politiker, knallharte Gangster und intrigante Frauen.
