Am Anfang war ein Mord (2000)
In der Wartehalle eines Flughafens schildert Jungautor Donovan einem neugierigen Mitreisenden die Geschichte seines Bestsellers: Die Hauptpersonen sind vier Freunde in Salt Lake City. Einer von ihnen kommt eines Abends blutverschmiert zu seinem Freund Austin und erzählt ihm, dass er in seiner Wohnung in Notwehr einen Mann ermordet hat, den er als schwule Zufallsbekanntschaft präsentiert. Anstatt zur Polizei zugehen, entscheiden die beiden, gemeinsam mit ihren Freundinnen Emma und Violet, die Leiche verschwinden zu lassen. Das ist aber bei Weitem nicht so einfach, wie gedacht, und für die Vier beginnt eine wahre Odyssee, die kein Ende zu finden scheint.
