Irvin Kershner (eigentlich Isadore Kershner) war ein US-amerikanischer Film- und Fernsehregisseur. Zu Beginn seiner Karriere als Filmemacher drehte er eigenwillige Independent-Dramen und war gleichzeitig Dozent an der University of Southern California. Später drehte er hochbudgetierte Blockbuster wie „Das Imperium schlägt zurück“, die James-Bond-Verfilmung „Sag niemals nie“ und „RoboCop 2“. Im Laufe seiner Karriere erhielt er zahlreiche Auszeichnungen, darunter Nominierungen für einen Primetime Emmy Award und eine Goldene Palme.
