Edward G. Robinson, geboren als Emanuel Goldenberg (* 12. Dezember 1893 in Bukarest, Rumänien; † 26. Januar 1973 in Los Angeles), war ein amerikanischer Schauspieler. Nach einer Karriere am Theater in New York schaffte er in den frühen 1930er Jahren den Durchbruch zum Star in Hollywood als Gangster Rico Bandello im Film Little Caesar. Obwohl er vor allem als bedeutender Gangsterdarsteller in Erinnerung geblieben ist, verkörperte er auch eine lange Reihe von anderen Figuren in Filmen wie Frau ohne Gewissen, Straße der Versuchung, Die zehn Gebote und Soylent Green. Robinson spielte in über hundert Filmen; er erhielt einen Ehrenoscar und wird auf der Liste der fünfzig größten amerikanischen Filmstars aller Zeiten des American Film Institute auf Rang 24 geführt.
