Maximilian Josef Sommer ist ein ehemaliger deutsch-US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Seine Familie floh 1937 aufgrund der jüdischen Herkunft seiner Mutter Elisabeth vor den Nationalsozialisten in die Vereinigten Staaten. 1970 gab er sein Debüt am Broadway in der Rolle des Brabantio in Othello. 1971 folgte eine erste Nebenrolle in Dirty Harry. Neben Theater und Film wirkte Sommer auch in Fernsehproduktionen mit.
