Sie wurde vielfach ausgezeichnet, unter anderem mit dem Arts Laureate Award, dem NZ Order of Merit, dem „Mana Wahine“-Preis von WIFT NZ und dem Te Waipuna a Rangi (Matariki-Preis) für ihre Leistungen als Schauspielerin und Regisseurin.
