Rufus Frederik Sewell (* 29. Oktober 1967) ist ein englischer Schauspieler. Im Film war er unter anderem in „The Woodlanders“, „Dangerous Beauty“, „Dark City“, „Ritter aus Leidenschaft“, „Der Illusionist“, „Tristan und Isolde“ und „Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel und Laurence“ zu sehen. Im Fernsehen spielte er 2010 die Hauptrolle in der Miniserie „Die Säulen der Erde“. Zuvor verkörperte er den Helden Will Ladislaw in der BBC-Verfilmung von George Eliots „Middlemarch“. 2003 spielte er die Hauptrolle in „Charles II: The Power and The Passion“. Er spielte die Hauptrolle in der CBS-Dramaserie „Eleventh Hour“, die im April 2009 abgesetzt wurde. Auf der Bühne kreierte er die Rolle des Septimus Hodge in Tom Stoppards „Arcadia“ und die Rolle des Jan in Stoppards „Rock ’n’ Roll“, für die er einen Olivier Award und eine Tony-Award-Nominierung erhielt.
