Christian Slater, 1969 in New York City geboren, ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Nach seinem Filmdebüt in Zeit der Vergeltung feiert der Schauspieler 1986 mit Der Name der Rose seinen ersten großen Erfolg. Spätestens mit der Teeniekomödie Heathers wird er einer breiten Öffentlichkeit bekannt. So zählt Christian Slater Anfang der 90er Jahre zu den begehrtesten Jungschauspielern in Hollywood. Mit Engagements in Filmerfolgen wie Robin Hood – König der Diebe, True Romance und Real Love kann er sich auch international einen Namen machen. Die Rolle des Interviewers in Interview mit einem Vampir übernimmt er von seinem kurze Zeit vorher verstorbenen Freund River Phoenix. Nach Hits mit Filmen wie Operation – Broken Arrow und Very Bad Things wird es Ende der 90er Jahre ruhiger um Christian Slater. Der US-Amerikaner ist, auch bedingt durch Alkohol- und Drogenprobleme, im neuen Jahrtausend fast ausschließlich in Billigproduktionen wie The Confessor, Alone in the Dark und Hollow Man 2 zu sehen. 2013 rief sich Slater in Lars von Triers kontrovers diskutiertem Drama Nymphomaniac 1 als Vater der Hauptperson wieder ins Gedächtnis der Filmfans. Zwei Jahre später übernahm er eine Rolle in der beliebten Serie Mr. Robot und wurde dafür mit einem Golden Globe als Bester Nebendarsteller ausgezeichnet.
