Casper Van Dien ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Filmregisseur. Sein Durchbruch gelang ihm mit der Hauptrolle in Paul Verhoevens Science-Fiction-Film „Starship Troopers“ (1997). Er spielte außerdem Brom Bones in Tim Burtons „Sleepy Hollow“ (1999). In „Tarzan und die verlorene Stadt“ (1998) war er der 20. Tarzan und der bislang einzige, der jemals in Afrika drehte und auf einem afrikanischen Elefanten ritt. Zu seinen weiteren Filmen gehört „The Pact“ (2012), der beim Sundance Film Festival großen Anklang fand. In „Beyond the Wave“ (2015), der komplett in China gedreht wurde, spielte er einen Überlebenden in einer postapokalyptischen Welt. In dem Independent-Film „ISRA 88“ (2016) war er neben Sean Maher Teil eines Zweierteams auf einer Mission zum Ende des Universums. Zu seinen Fernsehrollen zählen Auftritte in „MONK“ (2008), wo er im Staffelfinale einen Marinearzt spielte, und in „Beverly Hills, 90210“ (1994). Er führte bei Filmen Regie und spielte in ihnen auch die Hauptrolle.
