Bobby Barber (18. Dezember 1894 – 24. Mai 1976) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der in über 100 Filmen mitwirkte. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine Rolle als Partner von Abbott und Costello, sowohl vor als auch hinter der Kamera. Bud Abbott und Lou Costello setzten Barber oft als eine Art Hofnarr am Set ihrer Filme ein. Seine Aufgabe war es, mit Streichen und Späßen für gute Stimmung zu sorgen. Manchmal tauchte er sogar während einer Szene plötzlich vor der Kamera auf, um die Schauspieler und die Crew zum Lachen zu bringen. In „Abbott und Costello treffen Frankenstein“ (1948) öffnet Costello die Tür und erwartet den großen Schauspieler Lon Chaney Jr. Stattdessen betritt der sehr kleine Barber die Tür mit einem lustigen Hut mit Feder. In einer anderen Szene aus diesem Film sieht man Bela Lugosi, in voller Dracula-Montur, feierlich eine Treppe hinuntersteigen, um Abbott und Costello zu treffen, als plötzlich alle in schallendes Gelächter ausbrechen. Lugosi, verärgert, dreht sich um und sieht Barber, der ihm dicht auf den Fersen ist und seine Schritte nachahmt. Barber trat auch in kleineren Rollen auf, etwa als Lieferjunge, Kellner, Hotelpage oder Straßenhändler, oft ohne im Abspann erwähnt zu werden, sowie in vielen Filmen von Abbott und Costello und etwa der Hälfte ihrer Fernsehsendungen. Manchmal war sein Konterfei auf einem Wandbild oder einem Steckbrief in einem Postamt zu sehen. Sein letzter Filmauftritt war in Lou Costellos letztem Film, „Die 30-Fuß-Braut von Candy Rock“ (1959). Insgesamt wirkte er in über 100 bekannten Spielfilmen mit.
