Pierre Frank Watkin (29. Dezember 1889 – 3. Februar 1960) war ein US-amerikanischer Charakterdarsteller, der in zahlreichen Filmen, Serien und Fernsehserien der 1930er- bis 1950er-Jahre, insbesondere in Western, mitwirkte. Er ist wohl am bekanntesten für seine Rolle als Vater von Eleanor Twitchell, der Frau, die Lou Gehrigs Herz in „Der Stolz der Yankees“ (1942) erobert. Watkin wurde in Sioux City, Iowa, geboren. In den 1920er-Jahren leitete er seine eigene Theatergruppe, die Pierre Watkin Players. 1927 verlegte die Gruppe ihren Sitz von Sioux Falls nach Lincoln, Nebraska. Watkin verkörperte Perry White in beiden Superman-Serien der späten 1940er-Jahre, in denen Kirk Alyn die Titelrolle und Noel Neill die Rolle der Lois Lane spielten. Watkin spielte verschiedene Rollen in der Fernsehserie „Adventures of Superman“, in der John Hamilton Perry White verkörperte. Er sollte 1959 in einer Neuauflage der Serie seine Rolle als Herausgeber des „Daily Planet“ wieder aufnehmen, da Hamilton zwischenzeitlich nach der Absetzung der Originalserie verstorben war. Doch im Sommer 1959 starb auch Serienstar George Reeves, und diese Pläne zerschlugen sich. Watkin selbst starb sechs Monate später. 1955 wirkte er in der Folge „Joey and the Gypsies“ der NBC-Kinderwesternserie „Fury“ mit. Watkin hatte einen Gastauftritt in der CBS-Westernserie „Brave Eagle“. Er war jeweils zweimal in den ABC/Warner-Brothers-Serien „Cheyenne“ (als Harvey Sinclair in der Folge „The Law Man“) und „Annie Oakley“ (als Reverend Mills in der Folge „The Reckless Press“ von 1956) zu sehen. 1958 verkörperte Watkin Dr. Breen vom Samaritan Hospital in der Folge „San Francisco Story“ der Westernserie „Frontier Doctor“ von Rex Allen. In der ersten Staffel der CBS-Serie „Perry Mason“ (1957–1958) war Watkin in drei Folgen als Richter Keetley zu sehen. In den 1950er-Jahren wirkte er außerdem in „The Range Rider“, „Tales of the Texas Rangers“, in drei Folgen der Western-Abenteuerserie „Sky King“ und fünfmal in der „Jack Benny Show“ mit. 1958 spielte Watkin Colonel Duncan in der Folge „Decoy“ der ABC/Warner-Brothers-Westernserie „Colt .45“.
