Donald T. Beddoe (1. Juli 1903 – 19. Januar 1991) war ein US-amerikanischer Charakterdarsteller. Geboren in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, war Beddoe der Sohn des walisischen klassischen Sängers Dan Beddoe und seiner Frau Mary. Er absolvierte die University of Cincinnati mit Bachelor- und Masterabschlüssen und unterrichtete drei Jahre lang Englisch. Nach einem Jahrzehnt Bühnenarbeit und kleineren Filmrollen übernahm Beddoe Ende der 1930er-Jahre größere Filmrollen. Er wurde meist als redegewandter Reporter und ähnliche Charaktere besetzt. Seine Karriere als Werbeschauspieler wurde unterbrochen, als er im Zweiten Weltkrieg im United States Army Air Corps diente und im Theaterstück „Winged Victory“ der Luftwaffe mitwirkte. Anschließend kehrte Beddoe zum Film zurück und übernahm kleinere Charakterrollen. Gelegentlich trat er in Kurzkomödien als komischer Gegenpart auf, beispielsweise in den „Three Sappy People“- und „You Nazty Spy!“-Kurzfilmen der Three Stooges. Beddoe wirkte in über 250 Filmen mit. Beddoe verkörperte Mr. Tolliver in der ABC-Comedyserie „The Second Hundred Years“ und war Teil des Ensembles von „Life with Father“ auf CBS. Er wirkte außerdem in Dutzenden von Fernsehsendungen mit. In den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren hatte er vier Gastauftritte in „Have Gun – Will Travel“, drei in „Lawman“, drei in „Maverick“, drei in „Laramie“, drei in „Lassie“ und drei in „Perry Mason“, darunter in der Folge „The Case of the Buried Clock“ von 1958. Er spielte außerdem in der Western-Fliegerserie „Sky King“ mit Kirby Grant, in der ABC/Warner-Brothers-Serie „The Alaskans“ mit Roger Moore, in der ABC-Abenteuerserie „Straightaway“ mit Brian Kelly und John Ashley sowie in der NBC-Westernserie „The Tall Man“ mit Barry Sullivan und Clu Gulager. Darüber hinaus war er in der CBS-Sitcom „Pete and Gladys“ mit Harry Morgan und Cara Williams sowie in der ABC-Dramaserie „Going My Way“ mit Gene Kelly zu sehen. Er hatte auch einen Gastauftritt in David Janssens erster Serie, dem Krimidrama „Richard Diamond, Privatdetektiv“. Außerdem war er in den 1950er-Jahren in Episoden von „Der Lone Ranger“ zu sehen. 1954 spielte Beddoe den Outlaw Black Bart in der Folge „Black Bart The PO8“ der Western-Anthologie-Serie „Death Valley Days“, moderiert von Stanley Andrews. In der Handlung ist Black Bart ein charmanter, Gedichte schreibender ehemaliger Lehrer, der nach seinem ersten, lukrativen Überfall – einem Streich – auf Postkutschen raubt. Detektive von Wells Fargo spüren ihn über einen Wäscherei-Betrug auf. Auch seine Vermieterin Winona Webb (Helen Brown) war an ihm interessiert. Black Bart verbrachte sechs Jahre im Gefängnis und verschwand spurlos. In der Staffel 1970/71 der ABC-Serie „Nanny and the Professor“ hatte Beddoe vier Gastauftritte, drei davon als Mr. Thatcher. 1984 hatte er seinen letzten Fernsehauftritt als Kris in der NBC-Produktion „Ein Highway zum Himmel“ mit Michael Landon und Victor French in den Hauptrollen.
