John Stuart (John Alfred Louden Croall; 18. Juli 1898 – 17. Oktober 1979) wurde als Sohn schottischer Eltern geboren und war in den 1920er Jahren ein äußerst populärer Hauptdarsteller im britischen Stummfilm. In den 1930er Jahren gelang ihm erfolgreich der Übergang zum Tonfilm, und seine Filmkarriere erstreckte sich schließlich über fast sechs Jahrzehnte. Er wirkte in 172 Filmen (einschließlich Kurzfilmen), 123 Theaterstücken sowie 103 Fernsehspielen und -serien mit.
