John Joseph „Jack“ Nicholson (* 22. April 1937 in Neptune City, New Jersey) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Drehbuchautor, Regisseur und Produzent. Er zählt zu den bekanntesten und vielseitigsten Darstellern der Gegenwart. Mit drei Oscars (zwei als Bester Hauptdarsteller für Einer flog übers Kuckucksnest 1975 und für Besser geht’s nicht 1997 – und einem als Bester Nebendarsteller für Zeit der Zärtlichkeit 1984) sowie insgesamt unübertroffenen zwölf Oscar-Nominierungen ist er auch einer der erfolgreichsten Schauspieler Hollywoods.
