Clarke Peters, geboren als Peter Clarke am 7. April 1952 in New York City, ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Sänger, Tänzer und Autor. Er wuchs in Englewood, New Jersey, auf und begann schon in jungen Jahren mit dem Theater. In den 1970er Jahren lebte er in London, wo er als Musiker und Schauspieler im West End arbeitete und auch als Sänger aktiv war. Peters ist vor allem bekannt für seine Hauptrollen in den HBO-Serien „The Wire“ (als Detective Lester Freamon) und „Treme“ (als Albert „Big Chief“ Lambreaux), beide von David Simon. Er war auch als Autor für das Musical „Five Guys Named Moe“ tätig, das sowohl am West End als auch am Broadway lief und ihm eine Tony-Award-Nominierung einbrachte. Im Kino hatte er unter anderem Auftritte in „John Wick“, „Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri“ und „Da 5 Bloods“. Zudem hatte er Rollen in Serien wie „Person of Interest“ und „Marvel's Jessica Jones“. Privat war er mehrfach verheiratet und hat mehrere Kinder.
