Anthony David Leighton Scott (21. Juni 1944 – 19. August 2012) war ein britisch-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, Produzent und Schauspieler. Er war bekannt für seine Regiearbeit an äußerst erfolgreichen Action- und Thrillerfilmen wie Top Gun (1986), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), Days of Thunder (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), True Romance (1993), Crimson Tide (1995), Der Staatsfeind Nr. 1 (1998), Man on Fire (2004), Déjà Vu (2006) und Unstoppable (2010). Scott war der jüngere Bruder des Filmregisseurs Sir Ridley Scott. Beide absolvierten das Royal College of Art in London und gehörten zu einer Generation britischer Filmregisseure, die in Hollywood erfolgreich wurden, nachdem sie ihre Karriere mit Fernsehwerbespots begonnen hatten. 1995 erhielten Tony und Ridley den BAFTA Award für ihren herausragenden britischen Beitrag zum Kino. Im Jahr 2010 erhielten sie den BAFTA Britannia Award für ihren weltweiten Beitrag zur Filmunterhaltung.
