Angelo Salvatore Rossitto (18. Februar 1908 – 21. September 1991) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Synchronsprecher. Er war kleinwüchsig und nur 89 cm groß. Oft wurde er als Little Angie oder Moe angekündigt. Angelo Rossitto gab sein Filmdebüt in Stummfilmen an der Seite von Lon Chaney und John Barrymore. Auf der Leinwand verkörperte er alles von Zwergen, Kleinwüchsigen, Gnomen und Pygmäen bis hin zu Monstern, Schurken und Außerirdischen und wirkte in über 70 Filmen mit. Rossitto wurde in Omaha, Nebraska, als Sohn von Salvatore Rossitto und Carmela Caniglia geboren. Beide Eltern stammten aus Carlentini in der Provinz Syrakus auf Sizilien, Italien. Er hatte eine Schwester namens Josephine Rossitto. Entdeckt wurde er von John Barrymore, und sein Filmdebüt gab er an dessen Seite in „The Beloved Rogue“ (1927). Im selben Jahr war er in Warner Brothers‘ „Old San Francisco“ zu sehen. Er spielte in dem kontroversen Film „Freaks“ (1932) unter der Regie von Tod Browning und in einem weiteren kontroversen Film, „Child“ (1938). Bride. In den 1940er Jahren wirkte er in mehreren Low-Budget-Filmen mit Bela Lugosi mit. Er war häufig in Fernsehserien und Miniserien zu sehen und ist besonders für seine Rolle in dem Polizeidrama „Baretta“ bekannt. Zu seinen späteren Filmrollen zählen Auftritte in „Alex im Wunderland“ (1970), „Brain of Blood“ (1971), „Dracula vs. Frankenstein“ (1971), „Little Cigars“ (1973) und „Fairy Tales“ (1978). Seine letzte große Rolle war die des „Master“ an der Seite von Mel Gibson in „Mad Max – Jenseits der Donnerkuppel“ (1985). Rossitto ist neben dem Singer-Songwriter Tom Waits und Lee Kolima auf dem Cover von Waits’ Album „Swordfishtrombones“ (1983) abgebildet, das eine Hommage an seine Rolle in „Freaks“ darstellt. Er ist außerdem auf dem Cover von Bob Dylans Album „The Basement Tapes“ zu sehen.
