Persiguiendo a Betty (2000)
Una camarera de Kansas City, bajo la influencia de un culebrón televisivo, sueña con ser enfermera. Cuando su marido, un mediocre vendedor de coches, resulta asesinado decide irse a Los Ángeles, convencida de que su novio es el protagonista del culebrón, concretamente el cardiólogo (Kinnear). Mientras tanto, los asesinos de su marido no consiguen encontrar la droga que éste escondió en su coche antes de morir.
