La periodista, corresponsal de guerra y congresista Agatha Reed vuelve a la escuela donde transcurrió su juventud, para recoger un título honorífico, institución de la que fue expulsada en el pasado. Una vez allí, trata de reanudar el romance que había mantenido con su antiguo profesor, que ahora es el director del centro. Pero sus planes se ven amenazados cuando reaparece su último ex novio, también periodista y fotógrafo, quien intentará desbaratar sus planes.
