Lily Bart es una conocida belleza que hace furor entre los caballeros de la alta sociedad, pero acaba dándose cuenta de la precariedad de su posición cuando sus encantos empiezan a provocar la envidia ajena. Indecisa entre sus sentimientos y lo que le dicta la razón, Lily siempre hace lo que debe en los peores momentos.
