Beyond the Sea (2004)
Biografía del popular cantante Bobby Darin ("Splish Splash" o "Beyond the sea"). Walden Robert Cassotto nace en 1936 con el corazón afectado por una fiebre reumática. Los médicos aseguran que morirá antes de los quince años, pero, cuando su madre (Brenda Blethyn) logra transmitirle la felicidad que proporciona la música. Entonces el enfermizo chico del Bronx cambia su nombre por el de Bobby Darin (Kevin Spacey) y se convierte en una estrella que llega a rivalizar con el propio Sinatra. Su carrera como actor es reconocida con una nominación al Oscar al mejor actor secundario. Bobby se enamora de Sandra Dee (Kate Bosworth), con la que forma la pareja perfecta de Hollywood. Su inquietud y su curiosidad lo llevan a cultivar los más diversos géneros musicales: pasa del rock and roll al pop, gospel, country, a la música folk. Sus éxitos sólo han sido superados por Elvis Presley y Ray Charles. Sin embargo, su desmedida ambición ha empezado a envenenar su vida privada.
