La vida de Allison, una humilde secretaria, cambia por completo cuando conoce al multimillonario Phillip Lauder. La atracción es mutua y pronto se casan sin apenas conocerse. El magnífico rancho de su marido está dotado de excesivas medidas de seguridad que impiden que la joven se mueva con plena libertad. Un día descubre que Phillip estuvo previamente casado, y que además su esposa fue asesinada, pero su desconfianza crece aun más cuando encuentra por casualidad una llave que le pondrá sobre una peligrosa pista.
