Considerado uno de los directores de fotografía más prestigiosos del mundo, el guipuzcoano Javier Aguirresarobe cuenta en su haber con más de 50 largometrajes y ha trabajado con los más grandes directores de cine dentro y fuera de España: Fernando Trueba (La niña de tus ojos), Carlos Saura (Dispara), Pedro Almodóvar (Hable con ella), Alejandro Amenábar (Los otros, Mar adentro), Pilar Miró (El perro del Hortelano), Montxo Armendáriz (Obaba), Julio Medem (Tierra), Woody Allen (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Blue Jasmine) o Milos Forman (Los fantasmas de Goya), entre otros muchos. Premio Nacional de Cinematografía en el 2004, seis premios Goya (de 11 candidaturas), Oso de Plata en Berlín (Beltenebros) y miembro de la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood, sus últimos trabajos, incluyen la fotografía de la saga Crepúsculo y del remake del clásico de terror Poltergeist.
