John Alberto Leguizamo Peláez (nacido el 22 de julio de 1960) es un comediante, actor y productor de cine colombo-estadounidense. Ha aparecido en más de 100 películas, producido más de 20 películas y documentales, realizado más de 30 apariciones en televisión y producido diversos proyectos televisivos. También ha escrito y actuado en Broadway, recibiendo cuatro nominaciones al Premio Tony por Freak en 1998, Sexaholix en 2002 y Latin History por Moronsin en 2018. Recibió un Premio Tony Especial en 2018. Leguizamo comenzó su carrera como comediante en Nueva York. Tras varios años interpretando papeles secundarios en cine y televisión, saltó a la fama con papeles importantes en la aventura fantástica Super Mario Bros., interpretando a Luigi Mario, y en el drama criminal Carlito's Way, interpretando a Benny Blanco (ambas de 1993), seguido de un papel como la drag queen Chi-Chi Rodríguez en la comedia de carretera To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995), por la que recibió una nominación al Globo de Oro al Mejor Actor de Reparto. Entre las películas en las que Leguizamo ha participado desde entonces se incluyen Romeo + Julieta (1996), La Peste (1997), El Verano de Sam (1999), Moulin Rouge! (2001), Empire (2002), El Amor en los Tiempos del Cólera (2007), Asesinato Justo (2008), El Abogado Lincoln (2011), El Consejero (2013), John Wick (2014), John Wick 2 (2017) y El Menú (2022). Como actor de doblaje, narró la comedia Los Hermanos García (2000-2004). Interpretó a Sid el Perezoso en la saga La Era de Hielo y a Bruno Madrigal en Encanto (2021). Leguizamo también es conocido por sus papeles en televisión, incluyendo Freak (1998), por el que recibió el Premio Primetime Emmy de 1999 a la Actuación Individual Destacada en un Programa de Variedades o Musical. Esta histórica victoria convirtió a Leguizamo en el primer latino en ganar este premio en la historia de los Emmy. Recibió otras nominaciones al Premio Primetime Emmy por la miniserie Waco (2018) y la miniserie de Netflix When They See Us (2019). También ha aparecido en Urgencias, The Kill Point, Bloodline y The Mandalorian. En 2023, presentó la serie de MSNBC Leguizamo Does America.
