The Accidental Witness (2006)
Victor Sandeman est un associé principal de Brunel Global Securities. Il connaît des problèmes financiers majeurs, qui peuvent être résolus si la fusion prévue de 100 millions de dollars de l'entreprise a lieu. Cependant, le propriétaire de l'entreprise, Raymond Brunel, est contre la fusion. Pensant qu'il peut vaincre l'inefficace David Brunel, le petit-fils de Raymond et l'héritier présumé de la société, Victor assassine le vieux Raymond (en essayant de le faire passer pour un décès de causes naturelles) afin qu'il puisse aller de l'avant avec la fusion prévue. Le seul problème dans le meurtre est un témoin possible, Christine Sternwald. Parajuriste et avocate en herbe, Christine est en train de refaire sa vie après une agression sexuelle trois ans plus tôt. Lorsque Victor et Christine se rencontrent peu de temps après le meurtre dans une cintreuse d'ailes avec Victor conduisant la voiture de Raymond décédé, Victor est obligé de s'identifier à elle comme étant Raymond Brunel.
