Ming est une taupe dans la police de Hong Kong, implantée là par les bons soins du patron de la triade. Yan est un policier infiltré dans la triade depuis dix ans. Son casier judiciaire bien alourdi par les années est là pour témoigner de sa réussite. Parfaite symétrie des situations et des hommes : Ming et Yan sont également fatigués des rôles que leur font jouer, dans l'ombre, leurs patrons respectifs. Ming rêve de devenir un vrai policier.
