American Crime (2007)
Dans les années 60, ne pouvant faire vivre leurs filles sur les routes, une famille de gens du voyage décide de laisser leurs filles Jenny et Sylvia Likens, en pension, dans la maison d'une simple mère de famille, Gertrude Banizewski, et de ses sept enfants, dans la banlieue de l'Indiana. Très vite, Sylvia devient le souffre-douleur de la mère. Elle est enfermée dans la cave, n'est pas nourrie et est torturée à mort par toute la famille ainsi que par le voisinage.
