Le secret des sept cités (1955)
Au milieu du XVIIIe siècle, le Mexique est sous domination espagnole. L'occupant envoie un groupe de soldats dans le nord à la recherche des sept légendaires cités d'or. Le capitaine Gaspar de Portola dirige l'expédition qu'accompagne un missionnaire, le père Serra. Avant de poursuivre ses recherches, Portola installe une garnison à San Diego, où le prêtre fonde une mission. Le lieutenant Mendoza, qui commande cette garnison, provoque la colère des Indiens en tombant amoureux d'une indigène...
