Sam possède la faculté de remonter le temps et l’utilise pour résoudre les crimes les plus odieux. Sa seule règle est de ne jamais intervenir dans le passé. Lorsqu’une vieille amie, Elisabeth, vient lui demander de l’aider à rechercher le meurtrier de sa sœur, Sam accepte et décide d’utiliser son pouvoir. Lorsque Sam revient de son saut dans le temps, il découvre que ses actions ont créé un tueur en série. En changeant le passé, il va être amené à traquer un tueur en série qui semble lié à ses sauts temporels.
