Panic (2000)
Alex mène depuis toujours une double vie. Pour sa femme Martha, son petit garçon Sammy et son entourage, il dirige une petite société de vente par correspondance. Mais en réalité, il tire ses revenus du métier que lui a enseigné son père : tueur à gages. En pleine crise de la cinquantaine, Alex veut tout plaquer, changer de vie et se défaire de l'emprise de son père. Cependant, ce dernier n'accepte pas sa démission. Aussi tente-t-il de trouver de l'aide auprès d'un psychanalyste, Josh. Un acte que son père désapprouve et craint. C'est dans la salle d'attente du thérapeute qu'il fait la rencontre de Sarah, une jeune femme tourmentée de vingt-trois ans, dont il tombe amoureux. Alex ne sait plus où il en est. Il est déchiré entre Sarah et son épouse, entre son père et lui-même, entre ses anciennes habitudes et sa nouvelle thérapie... jusqu'au jour où son père décide d'initier son petit-fils.
