En Alaska, un énorme fragment de glace se détache d'un iceberg. Le bloc dérive peu à peu en direction de la petite ville de Beaver Mills, dont les habitants sont en train de préparer une grande fête. En échouant sur la plage, la glace révèle son contenu : un dragon ailé. Peu de temps après, quelques habitants signalent à la police qu'ils ont vu une étrange créature voler.
